Why do we exist?

There is a huge need. Waiting lists for subsidized housing can be 2-4 years. Children and mothers that are in high risk situations are often living in inappropriate conditions. 21% of single-parent families are living in poverty and are at risk of becoming homeless.

We want to provide hope.

Great News for Drummond House!

Drummond House is very pleased to be the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Edith H. Turner Foundation Fund of Hamilton Community Foundation. We thank the foundation from the bottom of our hearts for this generous grant.

A Year End Thank You!

2011 Christmas support for Drummond House was overwhelming. Our caring community went over and above to see that no woman or child was left out. Toy drives like those organized by Peggy at the LCBO, Ross at the Royal Coachman and our local fireman brought tears of joys to mothers who otherwise would not be able to provide gifts, clothing and warm winter accessories. The children giggled with anticipation as they hurriedly opened up brightly wrapped presents, laughing in their delight when they saw a toy.

To the many loving families who sponsored Drummond House families and those who brought donations right up to Christmas Day I wish to say a very big thank you. We are so blessed to have such a giving community to support us.

This year the RBC supported Drummond House not only financially but also allowed Drummond House to put a banner out front of the bank which resulted in the most online Christmas donations ever...we are so grateful. We thank Waterdown and Flamborough businesses and residents for their continued support it is because of your generosity our doors are always open.

A very special thank you to the Flamborough Review for year round media coverage...our events, campaigns and community profile have hit an all time high.

With a new year approaching and a waiting list for our services, the need to support Drummond House is continuous. To establish an ongoing funding base Rescued and Restored was opened in 2010. With a recent location change to 248 Freelton Road ( Freelton Antique Market) our not for profit warehouse offers good used furniture at bargain prices. Run by dedicated volunteers the store is open Wednesday – Friday 11am to 4pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm... not just a shopping trip it’s a shopping experience.
